About The Championships

Founded in 2011, the WDBF is the International Federation for dodgeball and currently boasts several national members worldwide, including USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, Mexico, and Hong Kong. The WDBF has an elected board of members and works to see dodgeball be played at the highest levels of local, regional, continental, international and Olympic competitions.

Every year, the WDBF hosts the World Championships. The event aims to bring together its member federations, along with guest countries seeking to explore the sport. Hong Kong captured the first men’s gold medal in 2012, while a combined US-Canada team won the women’s title. Since then, Canada has lead the men’s medal count with 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze, while the US has won 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze for the women.

The WDBF World Championships have run every year since 2012:

2012     Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
2013     Queenstown, New Zealand
2014     Hong Kong, Hong Kong
2015     Las Vegas, United States
2016     Melbourne, Australia
