Why you love Dodgeball:
Playing is the best, anyone that plays anything understands that the word “play” goes hand in hand with the word “fun”. Dodgeball is fun, not one game goes by without some sort of laughter. The sport is challenging, you get to meet different people, and you create relationships. I found my best friends through dodgeball and together we created a team called Pop That. So the reason I love dodgeball is because I’m playing a sport with my closest friends, laughing, learning, having fun every chance we get. Oh yeah, and winning which is the best feeling in the world! I couldn’t ask for anything more from a sport.

Proudest moment in Dodgeball:
Fighting our way back to the top and winning the championship after getting knocked into the losers bracket in our second game of the Sin City tournament.

Dodgeball brings people together that may never have met otherwise, and has created a solid foundation of strong bonds that have and will last for years to come. Everyone says this. Dodgeball is where people have found love, heartbreak, family, friends, “enemies”…. but the biggest reason I love dodgeball is that it has brought people support. I have never seen a group of people so supportive of each other, across state lines, over international waters… Come hell or high water… this community is supportive of each other, and it’s a beautiful thing to see in an ugly world.

Why you love Dodgeball:
I love dodgeball because it’s one of the few sports where no matter your gender or how big or small you are it all comes down to how quick and agile you can be on the court. Dodgeball is also one of the most intense sports I have ever played. Every other ball sport all you have to worry about is one ball but with dodgeball there are multiple making the sport even more dynamic. I especially love it because through dodgeball I’ve met an incredible group of people whom I’m lucky to call family as well as the love of my life, Morgan Muldrew.

Proudest moment in Dodgeball:
Besides watching others shine on the court I would say my top moments are: winning the Gold Medal at the WDBF Dodgeball World Championships in 2015 with my teammates; Trophy Wives taking 1st place at the San Diego Classic in the no-sting division and watching my girlfriend Morgan make a huge catch in the final of the 2013 Sin City Shootout co-ed no sting division final against Doom to get me in. And then I made a catch right off the bat, which led to another teammate to come in and close out the game.

Most fun moment in Dodgeball:
Every time I play I have so much fun with my teammates whether it’s during tournaments or rec leagues. Some of the most fun I’ve had is playing with “costume teams” for various charity tournaments put on by Weho Dodgeball. I mean, who doesn’t want to dress up as Hansel and Gretel along with other fairy tale characters and throw balls at people?

I am really competitive so I tend to play in more serious tournaments and leagues, but it’s nice to be able to have the option to goof around if I don’t feel like taking it too seriously some days. Why you love Dodgeball:
Dodgeball is not just a sport to me but rather a giant world wide family. I have made so many friends and gone so many places with this sport. Growing up I had severe ADHD and when I started playing dodgeball I could finally use this to my advantage, focusing on multiple things going on around the court. Dodgeball has taught me about winning, losing, focus, honesty, deception and strength of character.

Proudest moment in Dodgeball:
I have had many big moments in my dodgeball career. Some of my proudest moments on the court however have been when i have failed physically to make the big play in a finals and a referee has missed the call and I take the out anyways. Other proud moments are making team USA in 2013 and 2016, and being asked to coach the 2015 New Zealand National team.

Most fun moment in Dodgeball:
Playing in front of people who have never seen me play and hearing possitive reactions to what I am doing on the court. Any time I get to play in front of a large crowd.

It’s a sport that is very diverse with skills you learned from other places in your life. Your coordination, discipline, and creativity are all factors that can decide whether you are top of the top or bottom of the barrel.

Proudest moment in Dodgeball:

Why you love Dodgeball:
The sport is constantly growing and evolving. Dodgeball is constantly pushing me to become a better athlete and to learn new techniques or skills to become a better player. It also gave me an outlet during a very tough time in my life when I lost several family members to Cancer in such a short time period. I was battling depression, anxiety and addiction. Dodgeball gave me joy and happiness again in that rough time in my life. When I’m playing it’s like nothing else in the world is going on, and I can just enjoy playing the game I love.

Proudest moment in Dodgeball:
In the Spring league in 2016 championship tournament, we were down 2 games to 1 in the best of 5. There was just me and 1 other teammate left against 5, I didn’t have a ball but there was 1 on the ground about 5 feet to my right, as Cody Stidham (also on Team USA this year) looked at his teammate to get another ball so he could have 2, I made a dash for that ball to my right, but he saw me. He pump faked and I jumped and as I was coming down he and 1 other player through at me but I dodged those coming down as flat as I could to the ground, but as I looked up getting to my knees 1 ball was coming from my left so I moved my knee and at the same time 1 ball was coming at my face. I was able to barely dodge those as Cody threw another ball at me that hit me in my stomach but I was able to pop it up and catch it turning the tide of the game. We ended up going on to be champions of the league.

Most fun moment in Dodgeball:
I love my team Killshot, but I have become great friends with Glen Spejcher and Eric Stone. I have played with Eric and his team T.C. Boosh a few times and that’s always a blast. I’d have to say though, winning both Elite Round 2 south series divisions in 2015 playing with Eric and Glen was a lot of fun too. It’s something I will never forget.
